Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where do you train?

We train every Monday at 6:30-8pm. Depending on the time of the year, determines where we train.

During Spring and Summer, we are at Hearsall Common in Coventry.

During Autumn and Winter, we are currently training at Finham Park School.

  • What should I bring to training?

A pair of good cleats, a bottle of water and wear clothing you are comfortable to do exercise in.

These are the basics if you just want to dip your toe into the world of flag football. Over time you will gain your own flags, jerseys, team attire, etc.

  • How much is it?

The first 4 weeks of training are completely free! It’s the perfect chance to give flag football a try with no pressure and no costs. Just come along, have fun, and see if it’s for you!

If you decide to stick with us after that (which we hope you do!), it’s just £40 per year for membership and £12 per month to help cover things like equipment, travel, and venue hire so we can keep the team running smoothly.

  • Who can join?

Everyone’s invited to join our flag football team , all skill levels, backgrounds, and abilities welcome! No experience needed, just good vibes and team spirit.

  • I want to try Flag Football, but I have no experience?

Don’t worry about not having experience, everyone starts somewhere.

The greatest athletes all started with no experience, and if they can achieve greatness, then so can you.

What matters most is your enthusiasm and willingness to give it a go. We’ll cheer you on every step of the way!

  • How do you play Flag American Football?

Flag football is a fun, non-contact version of American football where instead of tackling, players pull flags from each other’s belts to stop the play.

    The Goal:
Move the ball down the field and score a touchdown by getting it into the opponent’s end zone.

    The Teams:
Each team has 5 players on the field at a time.

One team starts with the ball and tries to move it forward by running with it or passing it to teammates.

The defending team tries to stop them by pulling the flag of the player who has the ball — no tackling or physical contact allowed!

The offense gets 4 attempts to reach the half way line.

If they succeed, they keep the ball and continue. If not, the other team gets a turn on offense.

    Scoring:
A touchdown is worth 6 points when a player runs or catches the ball in the opponent’s end zone. Some versions include extra points after a touchdown too
